When the cameras detect an ‘object’ – either a person, animal or vehicle – has entered the defined area, a clip is then recorded and a notification sent. You can automatically disarm your alarm hands-free using your smartphone’s Bluetooth; helpful when you’ve got your hands full with little ones or shopping. You can pair up to 5 individual devices, so when your panel detects a recognised smart device in range your alarm will unset.

Make it look like you’re at home, even when you’re not with ADT Smart Plugs, which can be triggered to come on when motion is detected by your video doorbell or outdoor cameras. You can also schedule ADT Smart Plugs or manually control them using the ADT Smart Services app – ideal for remotely switching off TVs in standby mode or hair straighteners to avoid fire hazards.

Geo-fencing

Geo-fencing allows you to create innovative rules with your ADT Smart Home system. For example, you can set arming reminders that notify you if the alarm is unset when you leave the virtual radius around your property. You can also have any device connected to an ADT Smart Plug switch on or off if you leave or enter a designated geo-fence, such as switching off hair straighteners or switching on lamps.

Your ADT Smart Home system can send you sensor alerts, so if a door is left open and you leave a geo-fenced zone you’ll be notified. You’ll also be notified if a door is left open longer than a duration you stipulate in your system.

You can easily add smoke and heat detectors to your ADT Smart Home system. These detect for smoke and heat every 7 seconds, and if smoke or heat is detected, our alarm receiving centre will be notified immediately. You and your keyholders will then be informed to rule out a false alarm. In the event of a fire, the fire service will be alerted.
