Where are Britain’s safest coastal towns and cities?
It’s been the way for generations, the summer holidays are on the way and thousands of us Brits will head to the good old British coast for a well-earned break. Leaving us full of seaside blues when we return home, if we do.
Whether you’re retiring to the coast, moving for work, or looking to relocate after a great holiday experience, we’ve put together a list of the safest places to live on the UK coastline:
Aberystwyth
This pretty seaside town is not only number one on our list, but topped Provident’s safest places to live in the UK list too.
This ancient market town boasts a beautiful pier and promenade, cliff railway and plenty of picturesque beaches to go alongside the lowest crime rate in the UK.
Aberdeen
Although it’s not the safest seaside city in the UK, Aberdeen did steal Scotland’s top spot. Even though it’s the third most populous city in the country.
Here you can expect all that nature has to offer, from rolling hills and open farmland to towering cliffs and beautiful seascapes.
Plymouth
One of the safest big cities in the UK, as well as a pretty holiday destination, Plymouth is number three on our list.
This great city has a bit of everything for those wanting to find peace and quiet but still remain close to a buzzing city. Surrounded by sandy southern coastline, Plymouth has 16 beaches to visit, as well as shopping and great nightlife.
Brighton & Hove
A centre of peace and love, of course Brighton & Hove is up there with the safest coastal cities and towns to settle in.
With an iconic pier and pavilion, pretty beaches and one of the most revered Pride Festivals in the UK, this friendly coastal town is great for summer fun and beyond.
Swansea
The second Welsh city to make our list, Swansea has a really low crime rate for such a big city.
Walk, surf or just kick back and relax along the miles of golden beaches. Or, explore the gardens and medieval ruins.
