Stranger at the door? Here’s how to stay safe.

As children, one of the first lessons we’re taught is stranger danger. Don’t reveal information about yourself, don’t take sweets and definitely don’t answer the door.

But it doesn’t end in childhood, many of us are scared to answer the door to strangers even when we have kids ourselves. And rightly so, a huge 74% of burglars break in through the front door* - most knocking first to see if anyone’s home.

So, how do we stay safe when a stranger is at the door? There’s always old-school chain locks and peep holes, letting you see who’s at the door without giving them the opportunity to get through it.
