Intelligent security
An ADT outdoor smart camera acts as your eyes on the ground, detecting and capturing any movement outside your home. This is recorded in HD and full colour, and you can instantly view the footage wherever you are in the world using the ADT Smart Services app or online portal. 

But not every movement is a threat. And constant notifications triggered by passing cars or neighbours’ pets can quickly become annoying. That’s why ADT’s cameras use Smart Video Analytics, allowing each camera to distinguish between people, animals, and vehicles. With this feature, you can set ‘rules’ that determine what your cameras turn their attention on, and when. Plus, you’re also able to set virtual ‘trip wires’, across a driveway or path for example, so that you’re alerted when someone enters or leaves your property, as well as ‘ground zone’ alerts, which can capture any activity in close spaces, such as doorways. 

Security after dark 
As dusk falls and visibility drops, an ADT Outdoor Wi-Fi camera’s night vision takes over. So don’t worry about missing anything, it’s still being recorded. But the really clever thing about ADT’s integrated approach to security is the ability to link lighting to your system.

When connected to ADT smart plugs you have the power to set rules for your outdoor lights too, so they automatically respond if they detect any movement within your perimeter. And this can also be adjusted to distinguish between humans, animals and vehicles. So lights will greet friends arriving on foot or in the car (or illuminate less welcome visitors) but won’t go off for every passing pet or neighbourhood fox.

How smart can a camera be? 
It’s not just outdoor lights that can link to an ADT smart camera. One really clever aspect of ADT’s system is the ability to add indoor lamps to your security set-up via smart plugs. Burglars are used to standard motion sensitive lights outside homes. What they won’t be expecting is an interior light to go on as soon as they approach your house – whether you’re at home or not. Cameras and lights can all be useful deterrents on their own.
